We are a collective of workplace experts, designers and technologists with deep roots in experience design, software, operations and AI integrations. We love the people we work with as much as the workplace solutions we develop.

Achieving a product vision requires a drive for improvement paired with deliberate, sustained day-to-day effort.
Over the past 25 years, Agnessa has partnered with clients to translate their space related needs into built solutions - be that architectural designs, digital applications, hardware & furniture solutions or operational process improvements.
She tackles projects with curiosity and intuition, creativity and analytical rigor.
Agnessa has led projects for Li Ka Shing Foundation, Tata Trusts, UCSF, Stanford School of Medicine, CHW, Google.

Shokofeh leads product strategy, design research, and cross-functional execution across software and the built environment.
With a background in engineering, architecture, and design computation from MIT — and deep experience supporting Google’s workplace innovation efforts — she has delivered high-impact products that blend user insight with operational efficiency.
At Outer Labs, she oversees product vision and works closely with engineers, UX researchers, and industrial designers to develop solutions that enhance how people experience the workplace. Shokofeh also holds multiple patents for workplace technologies developed in collaboration with Google.

Technology only earns its place in the built world when it changes what someone actually does the next day.
Jen co-founded Outer Labs in 2018 and has spent 15+ years building software for the built environment, moving from engineer to CTO to CEO. Today she’s a Partner focused on technology. She’s led AEC software for Fortune 50 building owners, from the design tools architects work in to the systems that run their portfolios, and she’s as comfortable in the codebase as across the table from a client.
At Outer Labs, that’s included generative design for large office buildings, work novel enough that she took it to the Strange Loop conference and made it land for a general audience.Jen studied at Wellesley College, holds a master’s in Music, Science, and Technology from Stanford’s CCRMA, and is a Watson Fellow.

Javier helps clients turn design and engineering problems into working software for any platform. He has led engineering teams on large-scale software projects, and specializes in computational design tools: CAD, BIM, solvers, generators, and optimizers that help the designer's intent come to life.
At Outer Labs, he oversees and builds technology and AI solutions, working closely with the client and consultants to deliver a holistic product.

Denise approaches product development with a deep curiosity for how human behavior interacts with emerging technology. Driven by empathy and a commitment to user-centered design, she transforms complex challenges into intuitive, scalable workplace solutions.
Grounded in cognitive science from UC Berkeley, Denise has led enterprise product and workflow optimization practices at Google, Meta, and One Workplace. She collaborates closely with cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, and researchers to deliver technology that enhances how people work.

Marilyn comes from the Real Estate industry where she developed a knack for untangling complex problems and finding opportunities to leverage each person’s unique experiences to create optimal outcomes. With a background in life sciences and sociology from UC Berkeley, she thrives on asking questions and partnering directly with clients to understand their needs.
At Outer Labs, she collaborates closely with designers, UX researchers, and engineers to bridge the gap between creative, intuitive design and scalable solutions.
As Outerlings we are in relentless pursuit of execution while fostering a positive and thriving work environment for our extended teams and clients. We approach projects big and small with focus, determination, and creativity.
